Church of The Holy Trinity

The small church is one of the few buildings which survived the destruction of 1509-1510. It was built before 1404 by Cristoforo Dal Corno, ext to the Rose Tower which defended the Aurea Gate (Oria Gate). The simple façade shows faint traces for white and ochre checkerboard decoration, and the stone portal is surmounted by a bas relief of the Trinity.

The small, sacred building is imposing even at first glance; its vaguely Gothic lines, so rare for Feltre, are announced by the pointed portal crowned with a fine sculpted relief showing the image of the Trinity.

It was erected as the private chapel of the Dal Corno family and its interior conserves a  frescoed cycle in which the hands of two different artists can be discerned.

The paintings on the wall of the apse, with the portrayal of the Trinity, of Saints Victor and Corona and the Annunciation, are attributed to the Maestro dei Battuti di Serravalle, who worked in the first half of the 15th Century, while the scenes of the Last Judgement, the Dormitio Virginis and the Deposition of Christ in the Tomb are the work of an unknown artist of North European training.
