A delight for the palate, even the most refined palates. The cured ham made at Montagnana, medieval village in the province of Padua, is so exquisite that everyone will love it.
Less famous than its cousins from Parma, San Daniele and Sauris, but just as good. We are talking about the cured ham - Prosciutto Veneto Euganeo Berico - known since the 1400s when it made its appearance on the banquet tables of the Doge and Venetian nobles. |

a place that
one could
regard as
the hometown
of this
pork-based
delicacy, it
is
Montagnana,
in the
province of
Padova,
which, in
May, has
held for
some years
now a great
festival
dedicated to
its "dolze"
with
tastings and
direct
sales. |

A very sweet
cured ham
with a
delicate
aroma and a
particular
light pink
colour,
which earned
the DOP
grade in
1996 and has
also won
over many
connoisseurs.
It has been
eaten by the
Pope and by
the Italian
president as
well as
winning
numerous
gold medals
at shows in
London and
Paris. Today
it can be
found served
in Italy's
best
restaurants.
It has also
started to
become known
abroad,
especially
in Austria
and Germany. |
