First run in 1989,
this night-time
competition takes
place at the end of
August, and has
become one of the
most eagerly awaited
events in the
national athletics
calendar.
It brings
to Feltre some of
the great names of
national ad
international middle
and long distance
running, many of
whom come directly
from participation
in the European
summer meetings, the
Olympics, or from
the World or
European
Championships. Apart
from the two major
events, the
Round-the-Walls Race
and the
International Mile,
there are also
competitions for
amateurs, the
disabled, juniors,
and the European
Firemen’s
Championship. The
course is though and
technical and takes
the runners on a
circuit round the
beautiful 16th
century walls. The
event makes a major
contribution to
charity and is
linked to the
biggest lottery in
the province of
Belluno. |
|
The run on the road
will wind on a track
along the city walls
that must be
repeated more times.
The event is
reserved to FIDAL
card-carrying
athletes, to
athletes who are
members of any
association
recognized by CONI
and to any athlete
with regular health
certificate for
competitive sports.
Athletes coming from
foreign associations
are accepted.
The
athlete runs on his
own responsibility
for all that
concerns his own
good health and
frees the
organization from
any obligation. A
promotional
competition entitled
IL MIGLIO ROMANO
LUNGO LA VIA CLAUDIA
AUGUSTA will take
place and it is
reserved to young
athletes born in
1994/1995/1996
coming from Comunità
Montana Feltrina,
Comunità Montana Val
Belluna, Comunità
Montana delle
Prealpi Trevigiane
and from other
associations and
towns lying along
Claudia Augusta
Road. |
