The Sentinel’s Walk,
running along the
top of the
Renaissance walls,
connects the New
Steps to the Old
Steps and dominates
the Cathedral and
Baptistery, offering
good views of the
Campo Giorgio and
the town center.

For many years the
Sentinel’s Walk was
covered with
detritus and
vegetation, but was
restored and
reopened in 1998
thanks to a project
co-financed by the
European Union and
the Town of Feltre.
During the work, two
barrel-vaulted cells
for gun emplacements
were discovered set
into the walls and
can now be seen by
the public. |
