Feltre, renewing the old times, celebrates its spontaneous dedication to Venice in the far 1404. In the first August week end, as it is tradition, the Citadel transforms in a great medieval fair, with tumblers, jugglers, fools, old street markets, and the rich parade of nobles and ladies that remind the ceremony of the city delivering as well as the 15 golden ducat Palio (contest) which was instituted for the occasion.

The teams of the 4 historical quarters, Santo Stefano, Duomo, Port'Oria and Castello, each with its own colours and symbols, challenge each other, in order to conquer the sought after banner, that from 1986 is purposely realized from artists of international reputation. Four are the contests which are to be disputed: relay, tug-of-war, bowshooting and horse race.

The celebrations will reach the top on Saturday, when the historical centre will be invaded by walk-ons and street artists that will gladden the citadel afternoon. In the evening Piazza Maggiore will see a great number of flag-wavers, nobles, torch-light processions, bowshooting and relay contests and the imposing final surprise show; on Sunday it will be possible to be present at the traditional Mass with the presence of His Excellency the Bishop, and in the afternoon to the parade and quarter contests. Grand final with proclamation and consignment of the Trophy to the winning quarter.
