Touring with VAFeltre
Early in July, 2011, my
wife and I spent 6
wonderful days touring
with VAFeltre in
Northeastern Italy. We
had planned to arrive in
Feltre via Trainitalia,
but the train didn’t
make it that far. It
stopped a couple of
towns short of Feltre
without telling us. No
problem, however,
because Lorna and Dante
(the owners of VAFeltre)
had checked on the train
schedule in |
 |
|
advance, and met us at
the train depot in
whatever town it was
that the train stopped.......

Dear Dante,
Thank you, Lorna, and
Feltre for the most
meaningful vacation I've
had in a long time. The
Learning Italian tour
not only let me travel
thourghout Northern
Italy, it let me travel
in depth. When I would
come back to Feltre from
Venice, Verona, Monte
Grappa, etc, I got to
see the real Italy of
today. Having a coffee
with friends from class
and the town added a
depth most

vacations lack. Not to
mention that getting to
know Feltre was like
discovering an unknown
gem. (The excellent
Italian classes really
helped with getting to
talk with folks; the
Italian people are very
gracious about little
mistakes.) When I take
foreign visitors aorund
D.C., I often here "I
love the museums and
monuments, but where do
the real people actually
live?" I really
appreciate the complete
tour, and will be back.
Warmly, Tony

"To put it simply…Lorna
is a fantastic tour
guide, she delivers
information that is both
relevant and interesting
in a clear and concise
manner. I have been on
tour with Lorna in both
Italy and America; it
has amazed me how one
person can know so much!
Lorna is great at
answering her group’s
questions which include
the expected tourist
trivia, the usual ‘where
to go’ questions and the
more unusual and
|
 |
|
unexpected questions. As
well as being
informative, Lorna’s
tours are also fun, she
makes sure that she
engages the group that
she is with and adapts
herself to the needs of
the group that she is
with."

Touring with Lorna was
fantastic! Her ability
to keep the kids
interest with great
stories about historical
figures, landmarks and
facts was great! She
amazed us all with
untold bits and pieces
of historical knowledge
that you don't find in
the history books. This
made is fun, interesting
and intriguing. She was
well organized and kept
track of 30 people with
ease. |

We saw way more than our
original itinerary ever
spoke of and she was
very accommodating to
special requests on the
fly! She was the best
and I would love to tour
with her again! Great
job Lorna!!! -
